Pixel Dungeon Crawl is GamesArsenal’s top-down relic hunt: a 16-by-9 pixel dungeon, a sword, a spell, a roll with i-frames, and floors that start crumbling if you linger. It is a free original HTML5 canvas game on this site, not a mobile-store dump. Dust, titles, and best floor live in this browser. Descend in the cabinet above; this page is the field manual.

Controls

WASD or arrows walk. J or Z swings the sword. K or X fires a spell. Space rolls — the first half of the roll is invincible, so commit early, not after the hit already landed. P or Escape pauses. On a phone the left D-pad is eight-way; ATK, MAG, and ROLL sit on the right. Knights block frontal hits, so flank. Dark mages teleport and drop AOE circles; do not stand in the ring. After the collapse timer, outer tiles fall every two seconds — get to the stairs. Descend on the title, Reliquary spends dust, How to Play is the in-cabinet card.

Background

Top-down crawls taught a generation that a room is a puzzle and a corridor is a trap. This cabinet locks a 640-by-360 view (16-pixel tiles): procedural rooms, pots, relics, stairs, and a collapse clock. Sword range is short; spells spend mana; rolls spend stamina-by-timing rather than a meter you can stare at. Relics (vamp, hermes, ruby, and kin) change a run without a skill tree overlay. Dust banks in localStorage under this origin so a Chromebook session can buy a title later. The file is self-contained so GamesArsenal can iframe it without a build step.

Review

The draw is readable gold-on-ink tiles and honest knockback: you see why a knight ate the swing and why a mage circle cooked you. Keyboard is the precision tool. Touch D-pad plus three action buttons is fair if thumbs stay off the collapse edge. Reliquary meta is light — dust and titles, not a gacha. It will not replace a twenty-hour roguelike with branching acts. It will replace the five-minute tab you meant to close before the floor fell in.

Strategy

Clear pots on the way to stairs, not after the timer. Flank knights; never trade a frontal. Save a roll for a mage circle, not for a pot. If collapse is live, hug the inner rooms and ignore peripheral loot. Spend dust on a title you will actually equip. Descend Again is a new seed; Title is how you bank. Continues are not in this cabinet — a fell run is a fell run. Stairs beat greed.
